Kilimanjaro
- 19,340 feet, Africa's highest mountain can be climbed by on a five
day trek. No technical climbing is involved and any reasonably fit person
can undertake it. Nights are spent in modern mountain huts and provisions
are carried by porters under the direction of experienced mountain guides.
More experienced mountaineers can take other routes and bivouac on the
glaciers.

Mount
Meru - makes an idyllic setting for a trek starting from our base
at Ngare
Sero Mountain Lodge and ascending through banana and coffee plantations
and forest. A ranger will guide you to the crater floor at 8,000 feet
and on a three day expedition along the rim of the crater to the peak
at 15,000 feet at which point there is a seven thousand foot cliff dropping
to the crater floor and in clear weather superb views to Kilimanjaro over
the plains 10,000 feet below.

Oldoinyo Lengai - or mountain of god in Maa (Masai language) is the only active volcano in Tanzania. The peak is 9700ft above sea level and 7700ft above Lake Natron. It can be climbed in 6 hours and is usualy climbed at night to avoid the heat. Sunrise at the peak reveals the active crater and amazing views of the Rift Valley, Kilimanjaro and Meru. |
